The adoption of such things as online time billing and project management software through hosted methods is a no-brainer when the proposition is boiled down to its basics, it is said.

David Pratt, a specialist in online IT services for CRN, said that the situation simply appeals to a number of priorities that a business has in the current climate, such as efficiency and cost-cutting.

The expert said that the sell is "straightforward", adding: "We can help you lower costs by allowing you to purchase IT on a pay-as-you-go basis, so you only spend money on what you use. We'll even remove the pain of you having to manage it all."

Mr Pratt added that during the next few months, customers will start to appreciate the good points associated with business management software delivery, so much so that the method could become the "cornerstone of your entire business".
