Cloud computing is 'best way' to respond to worker demands

Citrix GoToMyPC has revealed that British workers believe in the significant reductions they could make to travelling to and from work by simply adopting smarter approaches to work, including flexible employment.

Rob Lovell, CEO of ThinkGrid, explained that some businesses show a lack of understanding of new technologies that aid in the implementation of flexible or remote working, including business management software, while many are afraid of the cost.

He noted that there is also a fear over both trust and security, though data stored in the cloud and hosted by a specialist company, is "far more secure than that stored in the office", while also dramatically reducing management time spent overseeing it.

Mr Lovell added: "Hosted IT can make a real difference, ensuring that all applications and data on a business network are stored securely and remotely 'in the cloud', accessible via a simple domestic broadband connection."

And as demand for flexible and remote working rises in the coming months and years, the expert believes that technology exists to provide a scalable network offering top-quality IT access to all users.
