Business management software 'can become core to business'

An expert in the world of software-as-a-service (SaaS) has dispelled a number of myths regarding the implementation of the system of software governance.

Writing for Fresh Business Thinking, chairman of Saaspoint John Appleby first and foremost argued against the commonly-held belief that small business management software delivered via the SaaS method is not core to a company.

He argued that we currently live in a world which is more competitive than ever and companies cannot afford to wait for their rivals to overtake them using more relevant technology.

Additionally, the landscape of business will have evolved in the next six months due to mergers, acquisitions and takeovers, necessitating the need for people to implement such systems now.

Mr Appleby concluded: "SaaS has become core to business because it has the flexibility, reliability and speed of adoption to keep up with the changing demands of a company."

According to Jonathan Lampe, the vice-president of research and development at Ipswitch who commented on the technology earlier this month, more companies are investing in SaaS because it has too many benefits to ignore.
