IT professionals 'not suspicious of SaaS'

In the next stage of dispelling the myths of small business management software, one commentator has emphasised how IT professionals are not suspicious of it - in fact, they're quite the opposite.

John Appleby, the chairman of Saaspoint, explained that if anything, many experts have changed their attitude to SaaS for a wide range of reasons.

He asserted that it removes maintenance or support headaches, which considerable time and money can be spent on, while no support issues exist due to "hosting, servers, software and security" being managed by the provider of business management software.

Mr Appleby added that IT has to be able to partner a business to provide technologies for implementing a corporate strategy with unparalleled cost effectiveness.

"The modern IT manager is transitioning from a pure technologist to a key strategy or business process enabler - SaaS is one of these enablers," he concluded.

This week, Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) released its Bessemer's Top 10 Laws of Cloud Computing and SaaS, stating that the "less is more" approach is important in regards to legacy servers, advocating the need to "leverage the cloud everywhere you practically can".
