SaaS is 'great new technology on the market'
Organisations that are still struggling to keep abreast of the newest developments in the current technology market have been given a crash course in a number of things, including business management software.
The Sydney Morning Herald revealed that cloud computing is a particularly important one to firms in the current climate, especially in terms of software-as-a-service (SaaS).
According to the newspaper, the SaaS is popular due to its ability to run software through the internet and allow users to pay for it on a more manageable monthly basis, with pricing usually focusing on the per-user model.
As a result, this is able to "spare business owners and IT managers from having to buy expensive software up front, in exchange for smaller, ongoing fees", meaning access of this kind to anything from accounting to business, security and customer relationship management.
This week, Nick Garlick of the Nebulas Solutions Group said that 2010 will see SaaS growing dramatically and organisations will drive towards using cloud computing, albeit with private models for security purposes.
