Sentiments surrounding SaaS are 'very encouraging'

The amount of interest in software-as-a-service (SaaS) products such as online time billing and project management software is growing rapidly, according to general consensus in the market reported by one expert.

Brian Sommer of ZDNet.com noted that smart firms adopting SaaS do not let internal issues impede what customers want, noting that such vendors are sorting out such niggles and moving forward.

He noted that marketing products is not a difficult thing to do for SaaS vendors, though the successful implementation with the customers they are winning is very important as sellers are very much focused on "building solid customer references" as they know "reputation really matters" in a space where service disruption could kill a brand.

Finally, Mr Sommer said that market interest in SaaS products is expanding, with finance applications in particular seeing major interest.

This week, the Whitehaven News noted that customer relationship management and associated small business management software could be one of the best investments a company can make.
