Everton score new SaaS deal
Everton Football Club (FC) has decided to invest in business management software in order to improve the service it provides to fans and investors, it has been reported.
Computing revealed that the organisation was constantly receiving bogus emails, scams and marketing pitches, obscuring its true fanbase from view.
Head of ICT at Everton FC Steve Fell told the news provider that the football club was spending too much time working with the email system and, in the previous 28 days alone, the club had received no less than 3.6 million emails with only about one per cent of them being genuine.
He continued: "The amount of hardware we needed kept growing, but the system still wasn't coping with the amount of email we received.
"In fact, if we had continued to manage our email security that way, we would need up to four servers to handle the mail."
Everton lost this weekend in the hotly-anticipated derby against Liverpool FC, losing 2-0 at home after Dirk Kuyt sealed the Blues' fate with the second goal.
