Fire prevention service invests in CRM

Victoria's Country Fire Authority (CFA) has installed a fresh customer relationship management (CRM) system in order to help the area prevent a repeat of the disaster which engulfed the country earlier in the year.

In order to avoid the forest fires which wiped out trees, homes and towns across the Australian state, the organisation has harnessed the CRM application as a way to easily facilitate interaction between community officials, as well as outreach campaigns and other meetings, The Australian reported.

Chief information officer of the CFA Michael Foreshew explained that manual updates which were required on the old system will no longer be needed.

He continued: "People will be able to book meetings online and get an updated calendar of events from our website. In future, they will be able to download a presenter's notes and fire danger templates."

Earlier in the month, Richard Wright, the marketing manager for Epsilon International in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said that email marketing has been resilient during the financial downturn and experts should continue to be used alongside CRM in online business.
