Hospitals 'starting to adopt hosted software'

The US market is discovering that business management software - and customer relationship management (CRM) in particular - is helping many to save money, it has been reported.

CRM Buyer revealed that nine out of ten hospitals in the US have made cutbacks in expenses including information technology, and with the American system being paid for privately, it is up to many of them to attract clients too.

Marc Perlman, the global vice-president of healthcare and life sciences at Oracle, told CRM Buyer that business management software seems to be growing, though the percentage of hospitals using the technology now continues to be at a low level.

He continued: "Hospitals are beginning to recognise the value of using relationship management solutions in support of their efforts to improve the patient experience and establish a more collaborative relationship between patients, families, the community and physicians."

Earlier in the month, Jim King of CRM Buyer said that people need to dedicate resources to mastering CRM as there is a big difference between mastery and simple knowledge.
