Fear of cloud computing is from 'uninformed'
Many organisations are needlessly intimidated by the prospect of hosting assets of their business on internet servers, though they ought to clue up soon and reap the benefits of the offering, it is said.
Martino Corbelli, the marketing director at Star, explained that he could talk about the fears surrounding business management software found through cloud systems for hours on end, though it is ultimately pointless.
"I think the only fear of cloud comes from organisations that don't have a strategy for cloud computing," he continued. "Those that do have no fear of it; they embrace it."
He asserted that the cloud is predominantly about making the most of existing assets, resources and people while at the same time blending what the technology has today with what is needed by a business tomorrow.
At the beginning of the month, Gartner asserted that through to 2012, IT organisations will spend more money on private cloud computing investments than on those offered by public cloud servers.
