SaaS is 'getting big in India'
The Indian market for software-as-a-service (SaaS) is growing very quickly, according to a leading expert in business management software.
Anand Naik, the director of systems engineering at Symantec India, told CXOtoday about how the data protection landscape's changing ways are encouraging infrastructure reworking at enterprises across the country, turning people to SaaS and other forms of cloud computing.
The expert cited a recent Springboard research report which revealed that India will be the fastest growth market for SaaS, noting that as IT infrastructures and data centres start to become more complex, data protection will become simpler to manage this issue.
Mr Naik added that SaaS revenues from India are expected to grow at a compound annual growth of 76 per cent and reach up to $260 million (£145 million) by 2011.
"These technologies are the next step in protecting global data across a highly distributed IT environment," he concluded.
Earlier in the week, SaaS was described as a very promising market by mydigitalfc.com, which noted that its money-saving abilities are highly-prized by businesses across the world.
