2012 Olympic Games to be deadline for BT super-fast broadband

BT has promised its customers that its super-fast broadband connection will be available before the 2012 Olympic Games, boosting companies which rely hugely in the internet for their day-to-day dealings.

The £1.5 billion plans from the telecommunications organisation will see firms, including those using business management software, getting a major boost in their speeds and reaction times.

Companies using the likes of project management software and resource scheduling software from a hosted IT service will be among the companies likely to get the best feedback from the BT upgrade.

By the end of next year, over four million customers will have access to the internet speed upgrade, while on July 27th 2012, around ten million homes will be in line for the package, according to BT chief executive officer Ian Livingston.

TechRadar UK today announced that BT has revealed that it has signed up its five millionth customer to its broadband service.
