Businesses 'must work well together' prior to SaaS launch

If a business does not have important groundwork already in place prior to the implementation of business management software such as resource scheduling, it could be doomed to failure, it is believed.

Saideep Raj, the Accenture global software-as-a-service (SaaS) lead, made his comments to Computerworld UK, noting that the degree of success with SaaS can be mostly measured on the culture of an organisation.

He explained that in particular regards to project management software, "The level of speed and agility of SaaS often correlates to how well different teams work together during a project."

This is important particularly given the average speed of implementation, Mr Raj added, as this is a major draw to many organisations and any stuttering will likely help the SaaS use down the wrong path and towards failure from the off.

More businesses will continue to use SaaS during the course of 2010, according to group vice president of solutions at Jobpartners Richard Doherty, who told PublicTechnology.net that the flexibility of such systems is a hugely attractive prospect to any company.
