Small business software users 'will join the cloud in 2010'
The data migrating trend from the servers of businesses to cloud computing will continue and grow in 2010, according to the results of a recent report.
Analysys Mason found that the cloud computing has helped firms using business management software to benefit from reduced costs and increased efficiency, which has proven particularly valuable in the recession.
Rob Lovell, chief executive officer at ThinkGrid, said that more small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) will realise that they too can enjoy the benefits of cloud computing.
"SMBs will not only start to trust vendors more as they become more established, but will also be keen to benefit from the monthly payments for IT, that the cloud enables, as opposed to having to spend large amounts of capital whenever hardware or software needs updating or replacing," he added.
CNET recently predicted that 2010 will be the year in which companies in the cloud computing sector begin to make their mark on the industry.![]()
