SaaS will have 'certain priorities' with businesses

A number of managers will use software-as-a-service programs such as customer relationship management (CRM) and project management software for certain reasons, it is believed.

Donna Fluss, the principal of DMG Consulting, told SearchCRM.com that many organisations are prioritising a number of things, notably the generation of revenue.

She asserted that a business implementing business management software such as CRM must ask the sales department to help establish goals for the organisation as it is important to be able to measure revenue contributions.

Furthermore, she stressed that retaining customers is the primary focus of CRM, noting that marketing workers need to be asked for customer retention goals, such as customer win-back programs.

Finally, operating costs can be reduced with automated IT solutions, Ms Fluss concluded, though this also requires input from those using the business management software.

Earlier this month, Tim Beadle of the Atrium Group told marketing Week that CRM is a state of mind and that the C will stand for customer and not prospect, meaning people should not use the system to bombard potential clients.
