Norfolk may struggle to 'achieve high-speed SaaS'
The economic growth of Norwich could be seriously stunted after business leaders in the city and county explained how the city has been left out of the superfast broadband evolution.
It follows the reports from BT as to the placement of 63 telephone exchanges that will offer broadband speeds of up to 40Mbps this summer, which will benefit people working with business management software.
However, Norwich and other parts of its region will not be boosted by the newest network additions.
The third part of the BT expansion is directly missing out the city, leading to a large amount of criticism of BT's criteria and warnings it could harm employment opportunities and business attraction for the city.
Meanwhile, BT has not confirmed where the next parts of the broadband roll-out will take place, with the deadline for completion still set for 2012.
The government recently opened up a consultation regarding the proposal for a £1 billion broadband fund raised via a 50p per month tax on all telephone landlines.
