IT spending to rocket; cloud computing behind changes
A new study has found that IT spending is going to rocket during 2010.
Forrester Research understands that worldwide technology expenditure will rise by a remarkable 8.1 per cent in 2010 to over £983 billion, which is close to reversing the 8.9 per cent loss registered in 2009.
Western and central Europe looks set to benefit the most, as Forrester has forecast the strongest growth to take place on the continent with spending on IT - most notably small business management software and cloud computing systems - earmarked to rise by 11.2 per cent.
Forrester principal analyst Andrew Bartels said this week in a company statement: "The technology downturn of 2008 and 2009 is unofficially over. All the pieces are in place for a 2010 tech spending rebound."
Forrester has been ranked for the last five successive years as one of the top 75 on the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies list, working for 2,505 companies as of October 2009.
