Big-market backing is 'powering hosted software community'
The business management software community is getting a major boost from big market players, according to a new report.
Rob Lovell, the chief executive officer at ThinkGrid, explained that the basics of cloud computing are in delivering services from a data centre, though this has been happening for around 15 years and now things are starting to change.
He explained that the reason people are starting to understand more about the cloud is because there is more visibility and information about what cloud computing and business management software is, in part due to so many people being proponents of the technology.
"When you get larger companies like Google, Microsoft or whoever pushing that idea that you can put things in the cloud or you can put things in the data centre and they'll be safe, there are benefits, that really helps accelerate the industry," Mr Lovell concluded.
Easynet Connect said at the beginning of the year that 2010 is set to be the 'year of the cloud' for UK small and medium-sized businesses, following a huge change in outlook over the past 15 months.
