Business management software 'close to perfection'

People wishing to adopt business management software such as resource scheduling software should be aware that their investment will not be perfect - yet.

Kristen Caretta, the site editor for SearchCIO-Midmarket.com, explained that software-as-a-service (SaaS) is the best option for everyone wanting project management software and similar offerings.

She argued that with SaaS can make sure resources are deployed efficiently, yet its integration with existing software and a loss of centralised control can be a slight drawback.

Still, they are the future, and this was agreed with by Jeff Kaplan, founder and managing director of consulting firm ThinkStrategies Inc, who said: "Due to the nature of our economy, business processes need to be adjusted on a more regular basis.

"Legacy systems are cumbersome and not designed for that continuous change."

A recent survey from e-mail service provider Mimecast revealed that cloud computing has a high level of popularity and is bringing around a number of repeat customers.
