Amazon: Economic necessity powers cloud computing adoption
Business management software is fast becoming the norm among large and small companies alike, according to a major website boss at a recent event.
Simone Brunozzi, a web services evangelist for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Amazon, spoke about the subject recently at the Westminster eForum Keynote Seminar on cloud computing.
He asserted that the cloud has become very important for a lot of companies, whether they are from small start-ups or huge enterprises and conglomerates.
This is not necessarily because of a desire to join a technology revolution but as an economic incentive to change efficiencies.
"The economics behind cloud computing is what really changed things," Mr Brunozzi continued.
Most companies today are adopting cloud computing because it makes economic sense and, especially in this economic downturn, it's particularly important to say we can save money here."
This month, Mimecast revealed that 70 per cent of IT decision makers who are already using cloud computing are planning to add more resources to the cloud, with most of these going within the next 12 months.
