SaaS could be 'unstoppable trend for UK business'

The adoption of software-as-a-service and cloud computing could become an unstoppable trend for businesses in the UK, according to one commentator.

Onesys explained that consumer and entertainment devices such as the recently-released Apple iPad could pave the way for an acceptance of software-as-a-service, cloud computing and the associated business management software by British organisations.

The organisation argued that it would certainly make sense to "soften-up" the sceptics of the UK market by getting software buyers to use the virtual cloud out of safety, adding that firms must instil that it is reliable and secure enough for more important tasks.

"Even with Big Brother and Skynet in the back of their minds, people may soon accept that the risk of being connected to one big 'brain' is negligible and the current trickle of adoption may become a flood," Onesys concluded.

Clients are becoming more demanding in the modern world and business management software providers must be willing to step up their game, according to Chris Baldock, the managing director at intY, in an interview with CRN.
