Cheeky stunt by Virgin Media targets BT, could overstep mark?

Small business management software users in the UK have been reminded that the market for fast broadband in the UK is, at the very least, a two-horse race, according to Virgin Media.

That is because the company pulled off quite the stunt this week, standing outside the BT Tower in London with 13 women, using their derrieres to portray the message "BT? Fast broadband? My a***!" in the middle of the street.

Executive director of broadband for Virgin Media Jon James said of the publicity stunt: "This cheeky stunt was simply a humorous way to get across a serious message - that customers should demand what they are being promised."

It is hoped that this will remind people that Virgin Media has been named the fastest broadband provider in the UK for the last 17 consecutive months.

In other Virgin news, Sky could be investing in several channels belonging to the digital TV provider, including Living and Virgin 1.
