Cloud computing recruitment 'jumps by 233%'

A cloud computing recruitment firm has logged a record number of enquiries for business management software specialists, jumping from three to a huge ten enquiries a week.

Resource On Demand explained that this showed consistency with the anecdotal evidence on show implying that increasing numbers of organisations are placing a reliance on the cloud and fuelling demand for specialists.

Lee Durrant, the managing director of Resource On Demand, explained that demand for cloud computing and business management software such as online time billing has countered the downturn and given way to a boom in recruiting for the area.

He asserted that cloud computing is now "more than a buzz word" and that organisations are seeing both organisational and operational reasoning behind the use of cloud technology.

"This appealed to organisations during the recession, due to value for money paired with an increased level of performance, and continues to appeal to them in the post-recession market place," Mr Durrant added.

It may also be consistent with comments from Gartner, which before Christmas listed cloud computing as one of its top ten strategic technologies of 2010.
