SaaS is becoming 'mainstream'

While the popularity of customer relationship management is growing, other software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business management software applications are becoming more popular among users.

Computerworld explained that the desire for faster and better service capabilities at low cost is making businesses of all sizes turn to SaaS for everything, including hiring, resource scheduling and online time billing applications.

Ginnie Stouffer, vice president of consulting at Pennsylvania-based IDC Partners, is one of many people using SaaS to its full capabilities.

She said: "We never used SaaS before, but we quickly learned the benefits are flexibility and the way you can develop things quickly.

Explaining the dearth of technology left in the workplace, she added: "There's nothing in our office now but a connection to the internet and our users."

A recent piece for the Epoch Times asserted that SaaS is extremely good business sense for those with smaller budgets, particularly in light of the financial downturn.
