Cloud could 'solve problems between business heads'

By using small business management software, companies could avoid the usual problems associated with implementation, it has been said.

"Cloud computing changes the dynamics of buying IT infrastructure," said Team Glasshouse, which made its comments on ITProPortal this week.

It explained that in the past, chief information officers (CIO) would have to request budgets based on a range of technical requirements while the chief financial officer (CFO) would have to trust the judgement of their counterpart.

However, it added: "Vendors and service providers are now able to target the CFO directly with promises of computing at a significantly reduced cost, a factor that is driving CIOs to seriously consider researching and investing in cloud computing."

Among such offerings includes time billing software and project management software, which gives a universal system to all employees.

It follows comments from Pradipta Mukherjee of Sify.com, who said that businesses are learning lessons after the recession and are increasingly looking for cheap ways to enhance customer relationships and improve efficiency.
