Outsourcing is 'mainly about cost cutting'
A number of organisations will power a change in the software and business markets in the coming months, according to an expert.
Patrick O'Brien, a senior analyst at Ovum, said that he really expects outsourcing to pick up in 2010.
"The markets already expect that as well, judging by the fact that the share prices of outsourcing companies have outperformed the general market over the last six months in terms of stock prices," he continued.
And while organisations will likely be looking to outsourcing in order to aid them in winning new business and retain customers, Mr O'Brien asserted that outsourcing will always predominantly be about cutting costs.
Despite this, there will be other motives at work, particularly in how it can deliver the flexibility to allow the introduction of new businesses or customers.
It follows research from Ovum which discovered that global IT expenditure is expected to rise slightly this year for the first time since the onset of the economic downturn.
