SaaS is a 'perfect budget-lowering technology'

A recent blog has unearthed a number of proponents of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business management software, highlighting how much people can get from it.

Internet Evolution argued that SaaS simply makes sense for so many reasons, emphasising the modernisation that it can bring.

It highlighted the viewpoint of ThinkStrategies expert Jeffrey Kaplan, who said: "Traditional customisation has been a black hole for most organisations which has too often failed to achieve its business objectives. SaaS solutions are becoming increasingly flexible."

He added that while legacy software is more customisable, more and more firms are willing to sacrifice this for reasonable configuration abilities, faster deployment, lower development and support costs, higher usage levels and higher satisfaction with the overall product.

Earlier this month, it was revealed by Security Director News that the San Diego Unified Port Authority has announced its removal of legacy servers and software in order to adopt a virtualised business management software model.
