Customer retention 'priority for small business management software users'
Companies are increasingly prioritising retaining their existing customers over obtaining new ones, which could involve firms using small business management software more effectively.
A report by Gartner has predicted that chief executives will increasingly take on a recession-era mindset which will lead them to pay for future investments through cost savings on their existing operations.
Jorge Lopez, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner, will prioritise efficiency and investing saved resources in future returns.
He said: "From the CEO's perspective, growing confidence that is tempered by business caution will result in an aggressiveness to harvest the successes of the past through improved productivity."
IT will have a significant role to play in helping encourage recession-driven changes, as small business management software that enables companies to understand consumer intent will grow popular.
Matt Munson, group technical director for BlueSquare data, recently claimed that the adoption of business management software through virtualised means is contributing to demand for data centres.![]()
