Poll: Nearly all businesses considering or adopting SaaS

Datamation and THINKstrategies continue to uphold the view that business management software will be commonplace in the industry in the next year, meaning people may want to get on board sooner rather than later.

A quick online SaaS poll by the organisations in conjunction with the Huffington Post surveyed 53 respondents, with 44 (83 per cent) using one or more SaaS solutions while eight out of the remaining nine are considering them. Nearly all of these are expected to adopt a SaaS solution within the next six months.

Jeffrey Kaplan, the managing director of THINKstrategies, an independent consulting firm focused on the business implications of the on-demand services movement, explained that the survey shows further proof that SaaS is not the "latest over-hyped tech trend".

He continued: "Instead, SaaS solutions are gaining acceptance and growing adoption among organisations of all sizes because they are delivering tangible business benefits to users and these solutions are meeting the needs of organisations of all sizes."

A recent report by Gartner has stated that chief executives will take on more recession-era mindsets, leading them to pay for future investments through cost savings on existing operations - perhaps meaning business management software could be a very viable option.
