IT market 'is always bullish'
IT managers looking to increase their firm's spend on things like timesheet software have been advised that the UK's IT sector has yet to fully recover from the global economic downturn.
However, Michael Dean, head of marketing at the National Computing Centre, reassured people that the IT industry has always been buoyant and the biggest changes on the horizon will be the way in which services are procured.
"The IT industry is always bullish, but there are big shifts coming in the way corporates buy IT - as outsourced, or cloud computing matures in availability, flexibility, security end users will be buying more services and less IT in," he added.
This trend could contribute to the popularity of software-as-a-service, such as online timesheet software.
Recent figures from Forrester Research indicate that the technology recovery is well underway in the US and around the world, although western Europe is expected to see a slower revival than most.
