Staff 'must be monitored properly'
There is a growing demand for staff to be monitored effectively, especially as fraud becomes more prevalent.
This is according to Neil Munroe, external affairs director at Equifax, who emphasised that it is essential to ensure that privacy measures are kept in place.
As a result, firms may want to consider using time tracking software, or as Mr Munroe suggests, random checks to make sure staff are doing what they are supposed to.
"More and more these days we have to be vigilant about electronic monitoring, making sure that no issues are boiling up at points," he stressed.
The expert added that it needs to be apparent which data is being accessed and where from, with the information then used to determine who is carrying out the activity.
Cifas, the UK fraud prevention service, recently revealed that there was a 45 per cent increase in staff fraud in 2009, compared with 2008.
