Rise in minimum wage imminent
The minimum wage is to be increased later this year, the Low Pay Commission has revealed, meaning those using time tracking software may need to make changes.
Adult minimum wages will rise from the current rate of £5.80 to £5,93, while the youth development rate increases by nine pence from the current level of £4.83.
Those between 16 and 17 years of age will see a seven pence rise on their current level of £3.57.
Chair of the Low Pay Commission David Norgrove said: "We are pleased that the new government has accepted our recommendations, including on the introduction of an apprentice minimum wage."
Apprentices will now be entitled to a wage rate of £2.50, which will come into force alongside the other changes as of October this year.
The proposals have been welcomed by the Trades Union Congress, saying that the move shows "wide support" for the national minimum wage.
