Flexible working 'helps to retain staff'
Using time tracking software to enable staff to take advantage of flexible working options could be a good way to retain staff.
Flexible working offers employees a "better quality of life" and a "stronger work-life balance", according to Workforce Logistics.
This could even help businesses to attract a higher calibre of personnel, claims the company's principal consultant Ken Beaumont.
He added: "The higher up in an organisation people are the more likely they are to enjoy flexible working, because they are the people who decide whether or not they can work professionally in this manner.
"They trust themselves and the employer trusts them to work when they are at home. People cannot treat it as a day off."
However, the option of flexible working may be detrimental in some cases, recent research by the Institute of Leadership and Management suggests.
A survey by the organisation indicates that over a third of British employees do work on holiday, while one in ten go into the office while on their break.
