Flexible working 'should be promoted'

Time tracking software can be used by employers to give staff members the opportunity to opt for more flexible work arrangements.

Bosses should promote flexible working as a growing number of employees are looking for such options at work, suggested The Work Foundation.

Stephen Overell, associate director for The Work Foundation, pointed out that both employees as well as employers could take advantage of flexible working options.

He added: "It is true that there is an awfully long way to go and I think in the future we will see much more adoption of flexible working and many more different forms of flexible working. So it is no surprise that people want more of it."

His comments follow in the wake of recent research published by Hays which indicated that 46 per cent of employees reported that their current employers do not make any provisions for a greater work-life balance.
