Time to train regulations up for consultation
A consultation has been launched to determine whether time to train legislation is negatively impacting businesses.
The government believes that the regulations, which came into effect on April 6th, may be proving burdensome for firms, so is gathering opinions on the subject.
Further education, skills and lifelong learning minister John Hayes, said: "Before we make any decisions about the future of the right to request time to train, it is important that we gauge views of the regulation and whether it is improving training opportunities for employees."
Lasting until September 15th, the consultation asks for the input of workers, their employers and anyone else who may have an interest in the issues.
The legislation was brought into force to enable workers to request time off work to study for qualifications, which may have encouraged the use of time tracking software.
This, however, was only possible in businesses employing more than 250 people.
