Pay equality 'must be addressed'
Pay equality in top jobs is still some way off, a new survey into the employment market has informed online timesheet users.
Conducted by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and XpertHR , it discovered that at the present rate of change, it will take 57 years for conditions to be equal.
The 2010 National Management Salary Survey showed that a male manager earns around £10,071 more than a woman in the same job, which in some cases marks a difference of 24 per cent.
Petra Wilton, head of policy at the CMI, commented: "Girls born this year will face the probability of working for around 40 years in the shadow of unequal pay.
"The prospect of continued decades of pay inequality cannot be allowed to become reality."
Find-a-solicitor service Contact Law reported a 15 per cent rise in the number of people seeking employment-related legal advice last month.
