BT marks broadband subscription milestone

Broadband provider BT has signed up its 15-millionth subscriber, showing the growing popularity of the internet in the UK with online timesheet users.

The company believes that it takes on around 5,000 customers per day, which has been the case since 2002.

However, analysts revealed that this latest announcement may indicate that internet uptake is reaching saturation point.

Strategy Director at BT Olivia Garfield commented: "Broadband Britain has been a success story with widespread availability, low prices and high take-up."

Five million of BT's connections are made through BT Retail, although the rest are compiled of other companies using the network.

It was recently revealed that a new broadband product aimed specifically at gamers is to enter the market, claiming to offer faster speeds and more reliable connections.

Demon Internet is responsible for the package, which also comes with 24-hour technical support.
