Data security breaches 'could be down to network issues'
Small business software users need to be sure their networks are properly configured to avoid security breaches, it has been suggested.
Many problems arise from failing to ensure networks are safe, a study by security firm Tufin identified.
Of the IT professionals questioned by the firm, three-quarters (76 per cent) identified that badly-configured networks are by far the easiest to take advantage of.
However, in 75 per cent of cases, companies had failed to take the necessary steps to protect their information against hackers.
"This realisation is made worse when you consider that 57 per cent of the security professionals we surveyed classified themselves as a black or grey hat hacker," noted Reuven Harrison, chief technology officer at Tufin.
According to the latest quarterly review of the ICT Labour Market from e-skills UK, the sector appeared in comparatively good health during the first quarter of this year.
