HMRC: Payroll CD-ROM needs updating
Any company using a payroll CD-ROM issued by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) needs to make sure it is up-to-date.
Failure to do so could mean that time tracking software users are using outdated guidance and calculators to manage their daily operations, the department warned.
“I encourage all employers who use our CD-ROM to download the update as soon as possible, and also register for our email alert service, to ensure they receive all the latest employer news," noted Stephen Banyard, director of HMRC's business customer unit.
A new tool is to be launched in February next year called Basic Pay-As-You-Earn Tools, which firms may not be able to take advantage of if they have not made the changes.
HMRC recently offered free advice to companies struggling to understand their obligations by running free workshops across the country.
Events are still being held in Northern Ireland over the coming weeks.
